All content offered on Eurosport 2, same as on Eurosport, will be offered in Spanish, a key step in Discovery's strategy to build a brand through a local channel that's closer and more appealing to Spanish audiences.
Eurosport 2 offers a wide variety of sports content, including three Grand Slams -Australia Open, Roland Garros and US Open-, the Major League Soccer, the Basketabll Eurocup, Winter World Cups such as Snowboard or Ski, Cycling competitions such as the Andalucía, the Paris-Nice, the 4 days of Dunkerque or the Critérium du Dauphiné, among others.
Eurosport also announced it will broadcast the Summer and Winter Olympic Games from 2018 through 2024.
Fernando Jerez, General Director of Discovery, Spain and Portugal, said: "Our strategy is to continue developing Eurosport so it becomes a referent in sports in Spain's pay TV. Offering content on Eurosport 2 in Spanish is an absolute priority for us."
Under the motto "More LIVE, More Action, More Emotion," Eurosport 2 was launched in 2005 and continues to be one of Europe's fastest growing pay TV channels, reaching 75 million homes in 18 languages and 51 countries.
