GolTV Latinoamérica Bulks Up its Programming

The channel is adding the Major League Soccer and the 2015 Gold Cup for the region.

GolTV Latinoamárica continues to add the best content to its programming lineup. The channel announced the acquisition of the Major League Soccer, the main soccer league from the US and Canada. It's supervised by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), member of FIFA.

GolTV will broadcast two games each weekend. It's one of the leagues with the highest growth rate of the past few seasons.

It has a strong presence of Latin players, with world-class soccer players like Kaka, David Villa, Steven Gerard and Frank Lampard, among others.

In addition, the 2015 Gold Cup will be the 13th edition of the tournament organized by the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf). It takes place in the US and Canada from July 7 through the 26.

GolTV will broadcast the entire tournament across Latin America.

Mariano Barnao, Director of Programming and Business Development at GolTV Latinoamerica: "With these two new properties we're offering 16 competitions between leagues, cups and channels offering European and Latin American soccer. We offer our fans and viewers the largest number and variety of soccer in the region. These acquisitions go hand in hand with our distribution's growth, the launch of our OTT platform and our migration to the HD channel early this year, to continue growing and positioning ourselves as a leading channel in the region."
