Just as it had announced more than a year ago, the Major Division of Colombian Professional Football (Dimayor in Spanish), has officially decided to launch a premium network in 2019 for the exclusive broadcast of the Colombian League.
The channel is expected to launch in the second quarter of the year and will most likely rollout under the name Win+.
According to Colombian media outlets, it will cost 29,000 Colombian pesos a month (US$ 9.30) and be available via pay-tv operators.
Further details seem to confirm the network will air live all 10 matches from every date of Colombian professional football. In addition, it will also air a minimum of three matches from the Colombian Cup (which brings together A and B teams) per date, two of the Ascenso League and one of the women's league.
It will also offer 24 hours of Colombian football-related content, including news shows, debates, analysis and differed viewings.
One surprise though, was the decision not to include ads on the channel, since according to Dimayor's president, Enrique Vélez,"people pay to watch content without having to see ads in between."
Win Sports, the channel which currently airs eight Colombian league matches per date, will air only five, and all in differed viewing.
And RCN, which currently airs two matches per date, will air no matches. Thus, Colombian football is finally stepping down from broadcast TV for good.
