Getting ready for what will be the biggest event in international football, Directv Sports is making its way to Russia, which will host both the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2017 and the FIFA World Cup in 2018.
"The focus for us now is football," said Guillermo Barreto, Senior Director for Directv Sports, Latin America, to SportsLatam.
"We are already preparing for the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia, but first in June we have the FIFA Confederations Cup and thus Directv will have a major presence in Russia," he added.
Directv Sports is making its way to Russia to offer a complete coverage of the Confederations Cup, with over 30 special correspondents present across the country.
All 16 games will be broadcast live on TV and on Directv's online platforms, DIRECTV Play, DIRECTVSports.com and the DIRECTV Sports App.
In addition, the company's Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts will also offer a complete minute-by-minute coverage through the hashtag #CopaConfederacionesDIRECTV.
Each match will have a pre-game special coverage, featuring a team of professionals led by Juan Pablo Varsky and Pablo Giralt, along with Claudio Husaín, Samuel Vargas, Gustavo Cherquis, Alex Candal and Alejandra Martínez.
"We will follow the Chilean team, who are representing our continent, but also all other teams, from Germany, Russia, and everyone, with our sights set on the FIFA World Cup," he said.
The 10th FIFA Confederations Cup will be played in four stadiums in Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan and Sochi.
All programming will be available in Argentina, Caribe, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
